Nile Republic songstress, Maria A, has sent a clear message for event promoters urging them to support homegrown talent than fighting them. Ahead of her much-anticipated “Maria Experience” concert, set for December 20th in Gulu, Maria highlighted the critical role promoters play in an artist’s success.

She expressed deep gratitude to her father in music Lucky Bosmic Otim for backing the concert and acknowledged the challenges she has faced as an artist without consistent support from the industry.

Promoters, according to Maria, have the power to uplift local artists and elevate their careers to new heights. “Without artists, there are no events,” she stressed, urging promoters to prioritize collaboration and positive relationships with artists.

Maria encouraged promoters not to view other artists or events as competition but rather as opportunities to showcase the region’s talent. “Whenever you see an artist like me, Maria, or others in the industry, please support us. It builds your name as a promoter, and it helps us grow,” she added.

The singer also addressed the rumor that her show might be postponed due to the conflicting events.

Instead of viewing the clash as a problem, Maria called for unity, labeling it a “friendly match.” She noted that both events can coexist and that the music scene thrives when everyone works together. “At the end of the day, we are brothers and sisters. Let’s support one another and build our local music industry,” she emphasized.

Maria also gave a nod to the success of international artists like Rudeboy, who are making waves in the region, but she remains focused on the importance of local artists being given the same level of support. “The reason Rudeboy is coming to our land on 21st December is that people from his home supported him. Let’s do the same for our own artists,” she urged.

Her final message to promoters was clear, “Let’s support home talent and take them to the next level. We want to be the ones flying to Nigeria or South Africa next.”

With tickets priced at 10,000 UGX and the final event poster set to be released soon, Maria hopes to see a full house in Gulu, where fans and promoters alike come together to celebrate local music.
