In a bold live video on Facebook female artist, Avie Ug went live on Facebook on monday afternoon to respond a promoter’s comments about the lack of female talent in the region.
She expressed her disappointment and frustration with the promoters who refuse to acknowledge the abundance of talented female artists in Northern Uganda.
She called out the promoters for their disrespect towards those who work hard in the industry, and emphasized that there is indeed great talent in the region.
However, she lamented that it is disheartening to see mediocre songs by popular artists topping the charts.
Avie revealed that despite numerous meetings among artists, no tangible outcomes have been reached, and she has never been invited to participate.
She urged radio administrators to consider pricing tags for Northern Uganda’s songs to be played on air and urged promoters to give clear price tags for promotions whenever there is need than to declined playing their songs silently.
She further added that she herself has produced good quality songs, and called upon the promoters to give more opportunities to the many other talented female artists in the region.
Adding that in her next live video, she promised to read out the names of some of these artists who deserve a platform.
Avie further emphasized that cooperation and collaboration among industry players in Northern Uganda is crucial to drive the region forward.
Her message was a rallying cry for change and recognition of the talented female artists in Northern Uganda.
