The prestigious Lira Corporate Gala is set to make a vibrant return this Sunday at Lira Town College for its 7th outing, promising a day filled with exciting fixtures. This monthly event held every first Sunday, is at its peak this year with only four more gatherings before the end of 2024 season.
Operating under the theme “Development through Corporate Togetherness,” the gala brings together corporates and revelers of different calibers from the Lango Sub-region for a day of sporting activities. This Sunday’s event will feature 18 football matches, along with multiple fixtures in volleyball, tug-of-war, and various indoor games like Mweso, Draft, Ludo and Chase.
FIXTURES
Since its inception in 2022, the Lira Corporate Gala has made significant strides in enhancing the organizational climate and improving workers’ quality of life and performance.
The event will kick off at the Lira Town College playground in the morning with public aerobics to promote self-care, followed by a series of outdoor games including football and volleyball throughout the day as participants also enjoy indoor games such as chess, Mweso, Ludo, and tug-of-war, fostering friendship among attendees.

Uganda Breweries is the main sponsor of this event, which is not only about sports but also aims to promote health and well-being among employees while advocating for their rights.
The gala serves as a health and wellness initiative, offering essential services such as free male circumcision, HIV testing, dental services, sickle cell screening, and blood donation. The newly introduced Tuberculosis (TB) camp is a vital addition as revealers will have access free TB testing.
Moreover, the event will also feature the sale of sickle running kits ahead of the Uhuru Sickle Cell Run slated for October 5th, under the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building Hope for Sickle Cells,” with Moses Kipsiro as the lead runner.
This initiative underscores the gala’s commitment to addressing crucial health issues and supporting the community in meaningful ways.
