Northern Uganda’s renowned RNB artist, BeePee, took center stage at Glass Lounge during a surprise performance for the Lira Cooperate Gala’s closing dinner. Amidst his soulful melodies, BeePee shared the heartfelt inspiration behind his timeless song “Mara Ni,” a musical journey of gratitude and resilience that traces back almost a decade.
BeePee revealed that “Mara Ni” is a personal ode of thanks to the Almighty for guiding him through life’s tumultuous ups and downs, especially after the loss of his mother at a tender age. The artist expressed deep gratitude for the mercy of God, acknowledging the pivotal role it played in paving a way for him.
In a touching gesture, BeePee dedicated the song to everyone facing life’s challenges, urging them to find solace in faith. His revelation added a poignant layer to the Lira Cooperate Gala, transforming the event into an emotionally charged celebration of resilience and triumph.
The gala marked the culmination of the 9th month’s festivities in the second season of the Lira Cooperate Gala, recognizing outstanding contributions from various companies and individuals. A total of 55 awards were presented, with Lira Regional Referral Hospital earning the title of Best Service Provider, and Uganda Police securing victory in the indoor games.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, Police PRO North Kyoga, acknowledged the event’s positive impact on community relations, emphasizing its role in fostering better connections between the police force and local communities.
Judith Ezaru, Division Sales Manager of Uganda Breweries Limited, expressed gratitude for the event, citing its effectiveness in bringing the company closer to its customer base. She pledged continued support for future editions of the gala.
Despite facing challenges, Kossy Eton, Chairperson of Lira City Elite Club and the gala’s organizer, declared the event a success. Eton assured the public of the gala’s return in 2024 and encouraged early registration for interested companies.
The 9-month outing saw 28 companies participating, with Uganda Breweries Limited emerging as the primary supporter. Outdoor games included football and volleyball, while indoor games featured chase, Mweso, and Ludo. The event also offered wellness services such as HIV testing, dental check-ups, and sickle cell screening.
