The Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) has issued a warning to parents not to enroll their children in institutions that do not offer national examinations.
The Deputy Executive Secretary of Finance, Human Resources and Administration at UBTEB, Geoffrey Kawanguzi, cautioned that certificates obtained from such institutions would only be recognized within the institution and not beyond it.
Kawanguzi made the statement while representing the Board Executive Secretary at the 5th graduation ceremony of the Ugandan Christian Institute for Professional Development (UCIPD) in Lira city.
Meanwhile, the Director of the institute, Sam Omara, called upon graduates to put into practice what they had learned and desist from laziness and corruption.
During the graduation ceremony, at least 627 graduands received their awards in different professions with femaless taking a bigger number 354.
While expressing gratitude for achieving this milestone, they also expressed fears about facing challenges while seeking a job.
UCIPD is a private institution shaping students inline with Agriculture and technology related courses with a sound Christian values for self-reliance and service delivery.End
