Integrity Over Politics: Deputy Dean Oguti Defends President’s RDC Reshuffle Decisions

The Deputy Dean of RDCs, Commissioner Sebastiano Oguti Oswen has issued a stern warning to politicians who are allegedly politicizing the recent reshuffle of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs).

Commissioner Oguti addressed concerns over false information being spread by some politicians, claiming they influenced the transfers of certain RDCs. He emphasized that these claims are baseless and that the reshuffle process is solely determined by the President, focusing on the integrity and competence of the individuals involved.

Oguti highlighted that the President’s decisions are not influenced by any external pressures or political maneuvers but are instead based on the need for effective governance and administration across Uganda.

He specifically cited the transfer of George Abdul from Apac District to Amuru District as an example, explaining that Abdul’s reassignment to the border district demonstrates his intelligence and capability to foster good relations with neighboring countries.

Oguti further noted that Lango is fortunate to have a personality like Abdul, who are entrusted with managing critical areas such as Amuru, known for its challenging environment.

The reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to strengthen governance at the local level. The changes involve new appointments and transfers across the country, with some districts receiving new commissioners while others see the replacement of their incumbents.

In the Lango sub-region, the reshuffle has brought significant changes to several districts. In Alebtong, Okiswa Geoffrey takes over as RDC, replacing Gillian Akullu, who has been transferred to Ngora.

Omara Christopher becomes the RDC of Otuke District, while Shilaku James has been appointed RDC of Oyam.

Arikwanga Richard Noon retained as the RDC of Kwania, and Omara Josephine as RDC of Kole. Lawrence Egole Emmy has been retained RCC of Lira City, with Eyal Lillian serving as the RDC of Lira District.

Onyuk Andrew becomes the RDC of Apac, replacing Abdul George who is heading to Amuru and Aketch Barbara has been retained RDC of Dokolo..
