Authorities at St. Mary’s College Rushoroza have suspended 825 male students over violent inter-class fights.
The suspended students are from senior four, five, and six classes.
The students were suspended on Saturday afternoon with the presence of heavily armed anti-riot police.
This followed a fight on Friday night at around 10pm between candidate and non candidate students of Senior over space to watch television.
Candidate students at the school have their own watching room separate from non-candidates.
However, a student revealed that on Friday evening ,S5 students stormed the candidates’ watching room after one of their screens in their room developed a mechanical fault.
But the candidate students overpowered and chased the S5 students away.
The S5s reportedly went and mobilized other classes and returned in larger numbers and a fight broke out
