Netizens have been left in wonder after a recent senior six candidate left a personal and cryptic message to an examiner inscribed on an answer booklet.
Speaking at the release of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results, the Executive Director of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) – Daniel Odongo revealed that, the student, whose identity is undisclosed, wrote on the second page of what should have been a space provided for answers of the examination conducted last year in November.
“Dear Mr examiner, you are still wasting time on me when there are more serious candidates? I’m the stone that the builder refused,” the student wrote.
Mr Odongo further revealed in a similar case, another student simply copied and pasted the questions of the exam instead of answering them.
“We’re wondering why a candidate cannot even score a mark in a subject which they chose since we are still seeing zero scores in some paper,” the UNEB boss wondered.
UNEB however, noted that this year has registered a better performance, accounting for an increase of students who qualify to join university with the standard condition of two principle passes.
“At the minimum two principal level required for university admission, 67815 (70.3%) qualify compared to 69.8% in 2020,” Mr Odongo said.
