The highly anticipated Miss Tourism 2023/24 pageant is set to take place on September 9 at Kampala Serena, with representatives from 12 regions competing for the crown.
The event, which is in its 11th edition, promises to be a spectacle as beauty queens from West Nile, Northern region, Eastern region, Central, Busoga, and Western region showcase their talents and grace.
The current Miss Tourism, Sydney Kavuma, who hails from the central region, has called upon girls to participate in the competition, stating that it is an honor to be Miss Tourism.
Speaking at the launch of the event at Explorers Hub in Kololo, the CEO of Miss Tourism, Ayisha Naguddi, said that the pageant not only produces Queens but also Tourism Ambassadors.
Naguddi went further to mention that most of the contestants promote tourism through various projects, such as the Rolex Festival, one of Uganda’s biggest events started by Enid Mirembe, a former Miss Tourism Queen. Other contestants are involved in tours and travel, promoting Uganda’s beautiful landscapes and tourist attractions.
