Ugandan model and fitness enthusiast Stephen Sunday couldn’t hide his joy as he was crowned Mr. Africa International 2024 during a star-studded event at Mamba Point in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Sunday night.
Sunday, a Frankfurt-based footballer and bodybuilder, achieved his long-anticipated dream after competing in the pageant for four consecutive years. Known as “the King of Abs” for his well-defined physique, he previously won the Body of Africa category in 2023, setting the stage for his ultimate triumph.
The competition, organized by London’s House of Twitch, seeks to find “the most adorable African man in the world.” Sunday outshone nine finalists, including fellow Ugandan Denis Wafula and Nigeria’s Daniel Olatunji, the first runner-up.
“It’s a dream come true,” Sunday shared, reflecting on a year of self-funded preparations and relentless effort. “This victory is for every African daring to dream big.”
Sunday’s win marks East Africa’s third titleholder and comes with prizes, modelling contracts, and a platform to inspire others. He aims to showcase Africa’s best while promoting healthy lifestyles and unity across borders, demonstrating how determination can overcome all odds.
