Based on the selections of performing acts and the tourism sites across Northern Uganda, the event has topic discussions on social media and the scrounging areas.
Members of the performing arts and communities in Lango Subregion are in total disappointment that there are no entertainer from their region included in the event.
Mrr Dee, a performing artist biased in Lira City, expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating “this kind of intimidation must stop,” and questioning why Lango was not included in the programme.
Popular event host MC Dogo also joined others in demanding why the event was being organized without performers from Lango Subregion participating.
“…Whoever made this event said exploring northern Uganda so Lango has no tourist attraction site , there is no Got Ibuje and the rest all the activities will revolve around Gulu and that’s northern Uganda to them… No act from Lango , no artist no nothing, isn’t this an insult to the entertainment industry and trying to divide us so they can laugh at us ?…” MC dogo on his Facebook page
Despite the comments from the region, the activities have has been flagged off today Tuesday for Northern Uganda (#Explore Northern Uganda” with all the questions unanswered.
Some of the disappointed individuals who preferred anonymity call upon leaders in Lango Subregion to always always value such initiatives and lobby for their communities as part of what they can give to back to their community.
The event will ran for atleast 5 days from 30th May to June 3rd, 2023.
