On August 3, 2024, at least 2,500 students were passed out at Alebtong Bomah ground after completing a one-week patriotism training course. These students came from various secondary and tertiary institutions across Alebtong.
Jimmy Okello, the Assistant RDC of Alebtong District, commented on the frequent strikes in schools, noting that many of these were due to minor issues such as food and students who never want to attend classes.

During the week-long course, students participated in various activities, including crime and security training. Deputy RDC Gilbert Okwir explained the need for young people to be vigilant and support security agencies to ensure community safety.

Daniel Okello, Chairperson of the Lango Head Teachers Association, emphasized the benefits of patriotism training in schools. He mentioned that patriotic students are easier to manage and more likely to contribute positively to their environment.
The District RDC, Gillian Akullo expressed confidence that the training would lead to improved discipline in Alebtong.

Lawrence Egole, the RCC of Lira City, representing the office of the president, cautioned the trainees against using their new skills to incite violence. He urged other districts to consider implementing similar patriotism programs in schools.

The training fostered a sense of patriotism, encouraging students to advocate for peace and reduce frequent strikes by nurturing love, devotion, and attachment to their environment.
Patriotism has been championed as a crucial aspect of nation-building, emphasizing love for the country and unity among citizens to create a strong and united nation.
