Queen Amolo Elizabeth, the Rising Woman of Miss Tourism Northern Uganda for 2022/2023, has been using her platform to educate parents, guardians, friends, teachers, and the society at large on important topics that affect our children.
In particular, Queen Elizabeth has been emphasizing the need to create awareness among young people about the risks associated with homosexual practices, and about the importance of using reusable sanitary pads.
Homosexual practices have been a subject of controversy and misunderstanding for many years, with some people viewing it as a disease or a sin. However, Queen Elizabeth stresses that it is important to educate our children about the outcomes of engaging in such practices so that they can make informed decisions.
She advises parents, guardians, and teachers to create an open and honest environment where children can ask questions and receive accurate and age-appropriate information.
In the other hand, Queen Amolo has been promoting the use of reusable/ sanitary pads as it is healthier and more sustainable among the young girls and women. She emphasizes the importance of discussing the DOs and DON`Ts of using reusable pads with the female gender, to ensure that they maintain good menstrual hygiene, avoid infections and stigma.
By doing so, she believes the community do not only protect children from harm, but also help to build healthy and well-informed societies. Adding that the challenge is to be open-minded and honest in our approach, and ensure that we engage our children in respectful and informative conversations.
Queen Amolo’s advocacy for creating awareness to children is a noble call to action where society must rise to the challenge and ensure that children are educated on the issues that affect them.
