As the crowning day for the 11th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda approaches, organizers have officially unveiled a key line-up of entertainers set to grace the event.
Topping the list are Eddy Wizzy, the “Atye Steady” hit maker who has been a dominant force in the music scene for the past three years, and comic singer Okeng Born Town, known for his energetic stage performances and the popular song “Ejang.”
This event marks a much-anticipated return for Okeng Born Town, who hasn’t performed in Lira City for nearly a year, leaving his fans eagerly awaiting his electrifying performance.
The event is scheduled to take place at St. Lira Hotel on June 29, 2024. Tickets are affordably priced at UGX 10K for ordinary admission. Hosting duties will be handled by the dynamic MC Kash Owakabee, with Wan Luo TV’s MC Trina Baby as the co-host and Deejay Val ensuring the music keeps the energy high throughout the night.
The 11th Edition of Miss Tourism Uganda Emphasizes ‘Tourism and Peace’
This year’s Miss Tourism Uganda competition is centered around the theme of ‘Tourism and Peace,’ with 11 contestants competing for the prestigious crown.
In a break from tradition, regional winners will now be tasked with promoting their regional tourism products through digital marketing initiatives. This strategic move aims to enhance domestic tourism while cultivating knowledgeable tourism ambassadors.
Finalists will be represent in the national contest. The national boot camp, commencing on August 26 at the Uganda Wildlife and Education Centre in Entebbe City, will gather 36 contestants from 12 regions.
The rigorous program will cover a wide range of topics, from tourism and marketing to personal branding and leadership skills, culminating in the selection of the Miss Tourism Uganda 2024 finalists.
The grand finale for the National contest for Miss Tourism Uganda will be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on September 13, 2024. Darling Uganda, one of the event’s sponsors, has pledged significant support, including a monetary contribution of Shs 80M and a car for the winner.
