The Uganda Police in Apac district are investigating a case in which a A 48-year old business man was last night shot dead in Apac Municipality.
The deceased, Mr. Angole Denis was gunned down on Saturday night at around 12:15am from his home gate in Ocokcan cell, Dam ward, Akere Division, Apac Municipality.
He was the managing director of Deno and Sons Enterprises situated in Apac town and he is commonly known as Deno and Sons.
According to the police preliminary report, it is alleged that the deceased, had earlier supplied clients with whole sale items using his tipper lorry registration number UAU 690Q before returning to his shop in the evening to load more items to be supplied this morning.
He then went ahead to balance his books up to around 11:30pm before driving back home where he was shot thrice in the his head and twice on the stomach by the unknown assailants who fled the scene.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the police spokesperson for the North Kyoga region, confirmed the report, adding that three cartridges and one live round of ammunition were recovered from the scene of crime.
Okema further said the motive of the murder is not yet unclear and that no suspects have been arrested however He appealed to the public to furnish police with information to apprehend the suspects.
According to the 2022 Police Annual Report, 279 cases of murder by shooting were reported countrywide.
