Northern Uganda’s rising musician, Lil Square, has released the music video for his gospel song “Obanga Keken” which translates to “It’s Only God Who Can Save Life” in Luo.
The song and music video serve as a thanksgiving offering to God following a tragic incident that occurred on March 25th, 2023, at Lango Broadcasting Services (LBS) radio station in Dokolo Town Council. The thunderstorm hit the station causing the broadcast antennas and parts of the mast to break and crash into one of the studios.
The music video was shot and directed by Super Films, one of northern Uganda’s leading filming brands, while Coka Pro produced the audio.
The storyline of the video is done exceptionally well, using fast cuts and transitions, which paces the viewer up and portrays what has been going on in Lango Sun region in the past.
The director incorporates the shrine where Lil Square narrowly survived an accident after participating in rituals, and then he rushes to church for God’s help. Though the demons follow him up to the church, the pastor manages to emerge victorious.
Lil Square’s “Obanga Keken” is a testament to the power of faith and the importance of thanking God for the gift of life.
The artist is signed under Abatang Music Empire and has been producing hits after hits, such as “Boss,” “Pe Abaro Iwia,” “Idonyo,” and “Ilibo.” Reports indicate that Lil Square still has many songs in studios waiting to be released at an appropriate time.
