POLICE CRACKDOWN: 65 Suspects Arrested in Joint Operation

In a significant crackdown on crime, police apprehended 65 suspects on Saturday in a joint operation covering Te-Kulu, Juba Road, and other areas.

The suspects, accused of house breaking and theft, were screened in collaboration with local leadership, and their statements are being recorded.

According ro the statement by North Kyoga Police Regional Spokesperson, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the cases will be forwarded to the RCSA for legal advice and further action.

The operation follows community policing efforts by the Lira-City West Division, which had received numerous complaints from the public about rising crime rates.

SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, PRO North Kyoga Police, praised the community’s role in the success, saying, “We thank the public for their improved level of information sharing with security agencies. Together, we can fight criminal activities in our areas.”

The police operation is seen as a major step towards addressing public concerns and ensuring safety in the region.
