This comes in the wake of a New Year’s morning incident where Amazon Pub in Lira-City West Division caught fire.
SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson, revealed that a report was received at 03:00 on January 1, 2024, prompting immediate response from the fire brigade.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, with Soco Lira City West documenting the crime scene. Despite swift action, the extent of property damage is yet to be determined.
SP Okema appealed to establishments to install fire extinguishers for quicker responses while awaiting the emergency fire department.
“It’s a very unfortunate incident as the director of the place invested a lot of money to the business, however we also appeal to management to install fire extinguishers 🧯🧯 at the facilities for quick responses as you wait for police emergency fire department” SP Okema Appealed.
