Alebtong District Assistant RDC, Jimmy Okello, has issued a strong warning to headteachers in the Ajuri County, emphasizing the importance of properly utilizing government funds allocated to their schools.
Commissioner Okello cautioned that any instances of misappropriation of the Universal Primary Education (UPE) grant and UCE Grants would lead to severe consequences, including police custody.
He made this appeal during a meeting with headteachers from Ajuri county’s primary and secondary schools at Amugu sub-county headquarters.
Okello stressed that schools must manage their funds effectively and refrain from exploiting parents through unnecessary fees, such as PTA charges and extra lesson fees.
He further urged headteachers to strive for better results in the upcoming exams, emphasizing the need for improved academic performance in Alebtong. Additionally, he announced that all primary schools in the district will participate in patriotic programs next year.
In his address, Okello expressed gratitude to President Museveni for introducing free education in Uganda, transforming the education landscape. By prioritizing academic excellence, accountability, and patriotism, commissioner Okello aims to create a better educational landscape in Alebtong.
