Another Suspected Thief Lynched in Otuke Over Fuel Theft.

Police is investigating circumstances which led to the death of a 32 year- old Bonny Okullo.

Okullo, a resident of Bar-aliro village, Alango parish in Alango sub county was lynched by mob after he was found in possession of 60 liters of fuel stolen from a village mate identified as Moses Acao. Aco had earlier on reported to Police at Alango Police Post a case of theft of fuel by the deceased.

It is alleged that the community members went on rampage searching for him but he was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, on Monday, Okullo was got and the stolen fuel was recovered in his house, this promoted the hungry mob to beat and cut him severally.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson says police was notified and rescued the victim alive but he died from Orum HCIV.

This is the 4th person to be murdered by mob in Lango sub region this month. On Thursday last week, angry mob lynched Ronald Otila, a resident of Bar-ogin parish, Alito sub county in Kole District.

Otila together with some unidentified youths were accused to have broken into a grocery shop and stolen merchandise valued at Shs.3m and 250,000 shillings in cash.

On 15th July, two suspected cattle thieves were lynched and their motorcycle set ablaze at Agwata sub county in Dokolo district.

Okema says attempts to have suspects in these cases arrested has been futile due to lack of cooperation from the local leaders.
