Northen Uganda`s entertainment industry is mourning for the loss of Okello Jefony Awio, popularly known as VJ Ojegele.
According to reports from Andy Ogong, an entertainment activist familiar with Ojegele’s situation, the talented artist breathed his last on Friday morning, around 1 AM at Lira Regional Referral Hospital.
He noted that the prominent movie actor and director based in Lira City had been battling diabetes and ulcers and was last week admitted at Lira Regional Referral Hospital emergency ward.

VJ Ojegele was widely recognized for his memorable performances in numerous local videos from Northern Uganda, particularly in the movie “Voice of the Voiceless and Order From Above.” He became a beloved figure within the entertainment sphere, captivating audiences with his personality and exceptional acting skills.
Through his talent and dedication, he brought stories to life, shedding light on important issues and amplifying the voices of those often unheard.
As news of his passing spreads, the first meeting is scheduled for today Friday at Christ the King in Teso Bar for further arrangements.
The exact cause of VJ Ojegele’s death has not been disclosed at this time. However, his departure leaves a void that will be difficult to fill in the Northern Ugandan film community. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire aspiring entertainers in the years to come.
