Wakiso Giants FC lost their recent match against Blacks Power at Akii Bua Memorial stadium, Lira as Michael Siwu scored late in the game to hand the home team, Blacks Power a win over the Purple Sharks.

The Purple Sharks attributed the midweek loss to playing without several key players, including their Goal Keeper, Hassan Ssenyonjo, Shariph Kimbowa and Titus Ssematimba, which forced the coach to make several changes to the lineup.

Despite missing some of their star players, the lads showed dominance throughout the game and came close to scoring on several occasions. Marvin Nyanzi hit the crossbar and had a goal disallowed for offside. Aliro and Ojik also had attempts on goal saved by the hosts’ goalkeeper in each half.

However, with time running out, Siwu delivered the decisive blow, scoring a headed goal that gave the hosts the win. This result prolongs Wakiso Giants’ wait for a win in the second round of the league.

The loss is undoubtedly a disappointment for the team, especially given the dominant display they put up throughout the game. However, the absence of key players due to injury or other factors can often have a significant impact on the performance of the team.

Despite this setback, the Purple Sharks will face UPDF Fc next friday one of the popular clubs in the country but currently laying  in number 12 in the table standing of the Uganda Premier League.

Black Powers is now number 13 with 15 points  in the league of 15 clubs with 18 Matches played this season and they are set to face Arua Hills on Thursday march 30th, 20233. Arua Hills is number 9 on the table standings with 23 points.

Out of the 18 matches played this season, Blacks Powers has won 3 times, drawing 6 times and with 9 loses.
