Bishop Patrick Okabe of Faith Ministries Mbale and also member of parliament for Serere Constituency in Serere district together with his wife Christine Okabe perished in a motor accident this morning at Naboa town council along the Mbale-Tirinyi highway in Budaka district.
Police has since attributed the cause of the accident to over speeding of the Kenyan truck box body reg no KCX 071K which is said to have drifted from it’s side on it’s side and collided head on with Okabe’s Landcruiser V8 Reg No UBK 995F killing him on spot, the wife died on the way to hospital and their driver only identified as Jacob is also critically injured and nursing wounds at Mbale Regional Referral hospital.
As the cloud of sorrow hovers above Okabe’s home, more sad news reaching our desk indicate that Okabe’s mother has also reportedly passed on upon hearing the demise of her son.
