The Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force, comprising the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Internal Security Organization (ISO), Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), and Criminal Investigations (CI), has initiated a rigorous manhunt for two notorious ADF suspects alleged for orchestrating a series of terror attacks in various regions of Uganda.
According to a statement by the Uganda Police spoke person, SCP Fred Enanga, the wanted terror suspects, identified as Kamusi Musa and Habib Sulaiman alias Kijana, are believed to be key figures in the recent wave of attacks involving improvised explosive devices (IEDs) within the Central Business District of Kampala, Butambala, and along the Kasese Bundibugyo axis, extending into the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Kamusi Musa, currently the commander of the Splinter ADF cell, took over leadership after the arrest of Kyoto Abdulrashid alias Njovu during a fierce encounter with UPDF Marines and CMI on Lake Edward on November 1, 2023. Two ADF rebels were neutralized during the confrontation, while Kamusi Musa managed to evade capture.
Counter-terror teams are also actively pursuing Habib Sulaiman alias Kijana, who is allegedly involved in multiple attacks using locally manufactured IEDs in densely populated areas of greater Kampala, including Kabalagala, Katooke-Nansana, and the foiled bomb attacks at Mabiiito-Nateete, Bunamwaya, Pastor Kayanja’s Church, and Kabibi Churches in Butambala.
The public is strongly advised not to approach these armed and dangerous individuals. Instead, anyone with information that could aid in the apprehension of Kamusi Musa and Habib Sulaiman is urged to contact the National Operations Command Centre through telephone numbers 0800199699, 0707600773, or 0776999136.
In an effort to encourage public cooperation, a substantial cash reward of Ugx 20 million awaits individuals who provide credible information leading to the arrest of the wanted terror suspects.
According to the statement, the recent investigation serves as a stark reminder that terrorism remains a persistent threat. The Counter Terror Team is diligently working to swiftly locate and apprehend both ADF rebels, underscoring the commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
