Five villages attacked by Karimojong cattle Rustlers

Karimojong Cattle rustlers on Tuesday 29th March 2022 attacked five villages in Kapelebyong District.

Joseph Enotu, the Local council three chairperson Okungur Sub County Kapelebyong district confirmed that the cattle rustlers raided the villages of Aturai, Arengepua, Obulin and Amootom among others.

He aadded that this attack was caused by  the gap in security numbers to man the situation in the area.

“The truth is that the commanders are trying but the number is not commensurate with these attacks, the attacks happen at the same time where you cannot respond” he said.

Francis Akorikin, the district chairperson of Kapelebyong confirms that on Tuesday at around 7pm one Daniel Otai a resident of Obulin village, Airabet parish in Okungur Sub County was killed by Karamojong cattle rustlers and took eight cows.

Meanwhile the vice chairperson local council two of Airabet parish, Abraham Okello and Nyinge Enos the LC1 vice chairperson of Aturai village have both expressed dismay saying threatening to take a dead body killed by cattle rustlers to RDCs office since the situation is frightening further calling for government intervention.
