Domestic Dispute Turns Violent as Wife Attacks Husband Over Meat Purchase.
Amolatar Police has detain Acen Milly for reportedly assaulting her husband, 44-year-old peasant farmer Obua Denis, at their residence in Abutataro village, Alemere parish, Agwingiri Sub-County, Amolatar District. The incident unfolded following Denis’s alleged purchase of meat for another woman, igniting a heated domestic dispute.
A statement by North Kyoga Police Public Relations Officer SP Jimmy Patrick Okema reports that the confrontation escalated on the night of December 24, 2023, when Denis returned home without meat for his family. This angered his wife, leading to a heated argument and physical altercation.
The situation took a dangerous turn when Milly reportedly grabbed a panga from their house, subsequently inflicting a severe cut to the back of Denis’s head. Local authorities were alerted, and the victim was swiftly transported to Amai hospital for medical attention by his brother and the LC1 chairman of the area.
Police, accompanied by the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), conducted an investigation at the scene. An exhibit of the panga used in the assault was recovered as evidence. Milly has been arrested and is currently detained at Amolatar CPS.
While condemning the act, the police stressed the importance of not taking the law into one’s hands. The ongoing investigation aims to gather all relevant details, and upon its completion, Milly is expected to face charges, with the case file forwarded to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department for review and guidance.
