Lira District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Linda Agnes Auma, made a substantial contribution on Wednesday towards the upcoming coronation of Lango Paramount Chief, Won Nyaci Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune.
Her efforts saw the delivery of four large bulls, each weighing over 250 kilograms, secured through her successful lobbying from NAGRIC.
The bulls were officially handed over to the coronation organizing committee at the Lango Cultural Center in preparation for the grand event scheduled for November 2, 2024.
Alongside this generous donation, Hon. Auma presented UGX 5 million on behalf of the Women’s Council Office and further contributed UGX 2 million from her personal funds, all directed toward supporting the ceremonies honoring the cultural heritage and unity of Lango. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and development within the Lango community.
“Today, my team delivered four big bulls after lobbying from NAGRIC for the coronation of the Paramount Chief (Won Nyaci). I also handed in UGX 5 million as a contribution from the office of the Women’s Council, alongside my personal contribution of UGX 2 million,” Auma shared.
