2026 Presidential battle starting to boil as American Investor Queen Dorothy Amolo declares interest in unseating Museveni.
Queen Dorothy Amolo, a prominent figure in Oyam politics, has publicly declared her intention to run for the presidency in 2026.
Queen Amolo, who previously contested and lost the Oyam Women parliamentary seat to Minister Betty Amongi, has surprised the electorate with her unique revelation that she plans to unseat her own party boss, President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta of the National Resistance Movement, NRM.
Despite acknowledging President Museveni’s exceptional performance as president, Queen Amolo believes that it is time for a complete repair of the ruling party system. Her early declaration is aimed at embarking on a countrywide mobilization effort to bring about this change.
Known for her investments in America, Queen Amolo appeared at a press conference on Wednesday in Lira City alongside her American fiancé. She stated that her previous losses in parliamentary contests have not discouraged her from pursuing her political ambitions. Particularly, in 2021, she lost to Gender Minister Betty Amongi and was also defeated in the NRM primaries in the race to replace the late Labor Minister, Retired Colonel Charles Okello Engola.
Highlighting the need for a comprehensive transformation, Queen Amolo emphasized that the country requires a complete overhaul, starting with the electoral system.
