Software Engineer and Co-Founder at Kakebe Technologies Sedrick Otolo, has expressed his interest in the Northern Uganda Youth parliamentary seat, replacing Hon. Boniface Okot, in the upcoming elections.
He took to his Twitter handle to announce his intentions, stating “I am here to express my interest in the Northern Uganda Youth MP, ready to take the risk to lead my people somewhere I think they should go; should I? Let’s see how this journey goes.”
The tweet gain lots of positive reactions from his twitter followers with majority pledging for maximum support towards Otolo`s political journey as time goes.
Otolo first gained attention for his work on the “Digital Pregnancy Detector”PregCare” Project, a wristband designed to track pregnant women’s temperature, location, and relay the data to doctors in real-time that handed him and Kakebe Tech a lot of fame.
The device was developed in 2022 by a team of four youths under the umbrella of Kakebe Technologies in Lira City, led by Otolo, as a way to tackle the challenges faced by expectant mothers in accessing antenatal care in Uganda.
Kakebe Technologies, where Otolo serves as a cofounder, is a market leader in offering science and technological services to the public in a time-saving, fast, and efficient way.
