Sad news has rocked the Lango Ghetto community (Street Kids) with the sudden passing of their President, Martin Odur. The 41-year-old was involved in a fatal accident that occurred on Monday at Golf course along Adekokwok Road.
According to reports from the territorial police in Lira-City CPS, the incident involved a Subaru Forester silver in colour with registration number UBM 819W and two male adult pedestrians who were standing at the road side.
It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle was coming from Adekokwok side towards timber yard at a very high speed and lost control of the car, causing it to go off-road and knock down the pedestrians.
The driver took off and abandoned the vehicle at the scene.The deceased have been identified as Martin Odur and another man named Obua Shadrach, aged 28 years old and also a lango by tribe.
The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s mortuary pending postmortem.
Meanwhile, the motor vehicle involved in the accident was towed and parked at Lira-City CPS pending IOV inspection.
The loss of Martin Odur is a huge blow to the Lango Ghetto community, and he will be greatly missed.
