Murder of Security Guard Raises Concerns About Private Security Company’s Management Practices in Lira-City

The suspected murder of Ogolo David, a security guard employed by PSG Security Company in Lira-City, has raised concerns about the security company’s management practices.

The 27-year-old guard was found dead with a severe cut wound to his neck on May 19th, 2023, while he was on duty alone at Apwoyo Distributor Limited shop along Bala road.

The Lira-City CPS has launched an investigation into the incident, and a team of detectives has visited the crime scene, collected the deceased’s body, and obtained statements from witnesses.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and there are concerns about the deployment of guards alone and without firearms.

In response to the incident, the police have urged anyone with information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the assailants to share it with the police for their arrest and prosecution.

Private security companies have been previously warned about the risks associated with deploying guards alone, emphasizing the need for proper management practices.
