In a bid to improve access to quality education in his constituency, the Government Chief Whip (GCW) Denis Hamson Obua has launched the construction of Adwir Seed Secondary School in Alebtong district. The project, worth over sh 500 million, is being undertaken by Akol Holding Ltd and is expected to be completed in six months.
Hon. Obua stated that their vision is to ensure that all sub-counties in his constituency, Ajury County, have at least one secondary school before his 5 years term elapses.
He further revealed that three sub-counties have already attained this goal, leaving Amugu Subcounty as the only remaining sub-county without a government secondary school. However, they have secured land for the construction of a new school and are just waiting for the groundbreaking.
Ajuri County has six sub-counties, including Omoro, Abako, Amugu, Angetta, Awei, Adwir, and Amugu Town Council. Upon completion, Adwir Seed Secondary School will feature a computer laboratory, science laboratory, multipurpose hall, administration blocks, teachers’ houses, and a football pitch.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including local leaders, education officials, and residents. They expressed gratitude to Hon. Obua and the government for prioritizing education in the region and pledged their support towards ensuring the successful completion of the project.
