In cases of missing persons, it is crucial to initiate an investigation promptly to establish their whereabouts and ensure their safety. It is essential to provide relevant information to the authorities to aid in the search and investigation process.
The disappearance of Awio Isaac Jackson, also known as Awio scrap dealer, has raised concerns among his relatives and the public. On Monday, social media was flooded with reports that Awio had drowned in Lake Victoria while enjoying leisure time. Videos of him swimming and having fun in the water were also circulated on social media.
However, conflicting reports emerged later that Awio had left the country for unknown reasons. In response to these reports, the Uganda police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, urged Awio’s relatives to report his disappearance to the police to aid the investigation.
Enanga stated that the police had deployed officers to Lake Victoria to verify the claims of drowning but found no evidence of such an incident. He said the police will also investigate reports that Awio may have left the country and gather information from airports to locate his whereabouts.
The uncertainty surrounding Awio’s disappearance has caused anxiety and distress among his family members who are desperate for answers. Anthony Okello, Awio’s father, confirmed that they have reported his son’s disappearance to the police of Lira City West division.
The public is urged to refrain from spreading unverified rumors and speculation about missing persons as it only adds to the distress felt by their loved ones.
