A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening, 25th March 2023, at Lango Broadcasting Services (LBS) radio in Dokolo Town Council.
A thunderstorm hit the station, causing the broadcast antennas and parts of the mast to break and crash into one of the studios. Five artists who were on air to promote a musical show were injured during the incident.
The deceased artist has been identified as Morris Olum alias Great Boy, a 23-year-old from Aloi sub-county in Alebtong district. Four of the injured artists were taken to the Dokolo Health Center IV for medical attention, while one person succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment.
The station manager, Fred Eladu, released a statement expressing the management’s sadness and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased artist. He also confirmed that the injured individuals had been discharged except for the one who passed away.
