The demise of Serere County legislator Bishop Patrick Okabe has shocked many especially fellow legislators and his constituents. Okabe died on spot at Naboa along the Mbale-Tirinyi highway in a head on collision.
According to the traffic police spokesperson Faridah Nampiima, has been attributed to the over speeding of the Kenyan Isuzu truck registration number KCX 071K bumped into the the MPs land Cruiser V8 Reg number UBK 995F dying on Spot while his wife Christine Okabe also died while being rushed to Mbale Regional Referral hospital and his driver is also admitted in critical condition.
“The cause of the accident has been attributed to the Isuzu box body driver who was speeding, drifted from his side to the side of the Landcruiser that was coming from Mbale heading to Iganga and had a head on collision”. She said, adding that the box boy driver is on the run after causing the accident.
