The 6th Episode of the Prestigious Lango Entertainment Awards (LEA) is on going after pausing for atleast a year as a result of COVID-19 that affected the entertainment industry and the country at large.
Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the entertainment industry went crippling and this greatly affected several events in the country.
The press release by the committee stated that they were able to hold LEA20 as an online event in March 2021 although 2021 became a nightmare due to numerous challenges resulting to sime winners moving home without accolades.
“Due to some unavoidable circumstances; including our accolade supplier running short of materials to make the accolade, we were therefore unable to issue the accolade as expected. Those accolades will however be given to the winners in the subsequent event of LEA…” Part of the Press Release reads.
It’s also indicates that the LEA20 Editions winners shall be awarded the accolades during the ceremonial event scheduled for February 2023.
Besides the numerous challenges, LEA is back and Bold with over 20 categories as Nominations kicks off in mid October 2022.
“…This year we are fully back and rejuvenated. We are already working with different partners (to be disclosed at a later stage) to ensure that the event returns with a big bang. Entertainers in the different spheres of entertainment will be recognized and awarded during the 6th Edition of LEA We shall host the 6th Edition of Lango….” LEA press release reads in parts.
Nomination of all participants will be done online where anyone can nominate someone to participate. That means that either the intending or a fan can be able to nominate someone for LEA22 competitions.

It recognizes and awards excellence in the different spheres of the entertainment industry in Lango sub region. Later on in 2018, the committee introduced special recognition categories to appreciate our neighbors of Teso, WestNile and Acholi.
