The forum for Democratic Change has rejected the outcomes of the Soroti East by-elections accusing NRM of hijacking their victory.
‘’We won’t accept the results of this Soroti ‘by-election’, which was hosted on violence, voter suppression, ballot stuffing, voter impersonation ballot rigging.’’ FDC said in a tweet.
The Soroti East returning officer, Christine Eyu, last evening declared, National Resistance Movement candidate, Herbert Edmund Ariko, as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Soroti East Division following Thursday’s hotly contested by-election.
Ariko got 9,407 votes while his closest contender, Moses Attan of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change got 8,771 votes.
However, the FDC claim the election was marred by ballot staffing, unlawful arrests among others and are yet to announce another course of action.
