Rising Star Don Gold Debuts Record Label to Empower Northern Ugandan Artists

Northern Uganda’s rising star, Onama Stephen, musically known as Don Gold, has taken a bold step in his music career by launching his own record label, Chung Kazi Ent Entertainment.

This milestone marks a significant chapter for the 24-year-old artist, who has steadily built his name as a talented recording artist and performer.

Born in Nwoya District, Don Gold’s journey is one of resilience and passion as he discovered his love for music in 2018. Drawing inspiration from celebrated artists like the late Lumix, Judas Rapknowledge, Timcence, and Eddy Wizzy, he honed his skills in hip-hop, dancehall, and RnB, primarily delivered in Luo, his native language.

Initially managed by Bob Narry, a Ugandan artist from Lango now based in Kampala, Don Gold recorded his debut single “High” featuring award-winning rapper Timcence. The song introduced his unique sound to Uganda’s music scene, earning him recognition and setting the stage for his future.

Now venturing into independent territory, Don Gold’s decision to establish Chung Kazi Ent Entertainment reflects his ambition to contribute to Northern Uganda’s music industry. Through the label, he aims to not only advance his career but also nurture and uplift budding artists in the region.

In a statement, Don Gold emphasized the importance of empowering local talent. “Launching Chung Kazi Ent Entertainment is a dream come true. It’s about creating a platform where artists can express themselves and grow. I want to give back to my community and inspire the next generation of musicians,” he said.
