In a recent match of the Uganda Premier League, KCCA FC lost valuable points in their pursuit of securing the league title this year Uganda Premier League. The team played out a one-all draw against Blacks Power at the Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira. The game saw Blacks Power’s Franco Onen being named man of the match.
Blacks Power dominated the game and took an early lead through Robert Eseru in the seventh minute, utilizing the mistake made by Haruna Lukwago who lost possession of the ball in his own half. Goalkeeper Derrick Ochan was able to save KCCA from conceding.
However, KCCA managed to equalize in the 36th minute through Dennis Iguma, who headed home from a corner kick delivery by Allan Okello. Despite their efforts, KCCA was unable to score another goal, and the game ended in a draw, causing them to drop two valuable points.
KCCA FC currently sits in second place on the league standings, behind leaders SC Villa, with 37 points after playing 18 matches. On the other hand, Blacks Power is in 14th place with 16 points after playing the same number of 20 games. Their next match will be against Wakiso-based team on Saturday, 8th April.
Blacks Power still has several remaining matches before the end of the league, including Maroons FC, UPDF FC, URA FC, Gaddafi FC, Onduparaka FC, and Express Football Club. With only a few matches left in the season, each team will be fighting hard to secure their position on the league table.
