One of Northern Uganda’s top musicians BeePee who is currently the most Rated RnB singer in Northern has said anyone who makes it in Lira is capable of performing anywhere without doubt.
Talking about how northerners consume the local music, it has never been easy for domestic artists to break through, many try but ends up going off action. This does not mean they luck talent but influencing Northerners has never been easy.
While on 97.7 Unity FM during the Saturday top 20 count down show hosted by Aaron Ebwola, the “Akello” hit maker BeePee Said the hardest people to impress are the northerners and most especially people within Lira.
According to BeePee, the most affected are musicians who do Hip Pop and reggae genres, it has never been easy for them to influence.
Meanwhile Aaron Ebwola cited the Soulz of Africa and Northern Uganda all-time Legend, the late Lumix as the only Northern Hip Pop artist who managed to capture the attentions and respect in northern Uganda and beyond.
Accompanying BeePee to studio was the Northern Uganda’s finest reggae star Good Ambrose UG who said it’s a little bit tricky to venture in to hippop and reggae music then you’re loved, it needs a lot of work.
However Beepee thanked, Good Ambrose Ug, Styput and the artists who do slow jamz because it has never been easy to change the style of music in Northern Uganda but he believes things will change with time.
“I had to slowdown music in luo, because people used to think luo songs should be slow. I risked and came out with Mak Cinga.” Said BeePee.
He continued saying he too risked to slowdown music while singing in Luo and he came out with “Mak Cinga” which was a hit and still tastes fresh.
Beepee, Good Ambrose Ug thanked Aaron Ebwola for good work in supporting and promoting luo music and most importantly they thanked fans for the love and support always rendered.
